Hi, I’m Gemma, that’s me in my studio on the left there.
I have been designing and producing an exclusive range of fashion accessories since 2001, specialising in millinery and headwear for the last 7 years.
After graduating from Winchester School of Art with a degree in Textiles & Fashion in 1999 I developed my own individual style, working with vintage, recycled and natural materials to make wearable and beautiful accessories.
More recently I have been trained in traditional and couture millinery techniques by studying with and working for Denise Innes at The British School of Millinery. Denise was taught by Rose Cory – former hat maker to the Queen Mother – so I feel privileged to be part of that lineage! Products available incude tiaras made with vintage jewellery, bespoke bridal fascinators made with feathers, antique lace and jewellery, and hats made with vintage fabrics. The emphasis is on using natural and vintage materials as much as possible, thereby making each piece ethical, sustainable and unique.
All pieces are designed and made by myself in my studio here in the Cotswolds. You as the client are involved every step of the way, ensuring that the finished piece is totally unique and tailored to your requirements – regardless of whether we meet face to face or are miles apart and complete the whole process remotely, via email, phone and post!
For an extra personal service, I can incorporate materials of sentimental value into your head piece, if you have a scrap of fabric from your dress, or a piece of heirloom jewellery from a loved relative. I have even used lego people (in a bridal keepsake bouquet) duck feathers collected by the bride-to-be from a location important to her, and a brooch from a client’s great aunt’s jewellery box.
